SB4 – Public Health Commission
This is authored by Sen. Ed Charbonneau, Sen. Jean Leising, and Sen. Chip Perfect
There are several moving parts to this proposed bill. The main take-away here is that SB4 would expand the capabilities of what the state health department is allowed to do at the county health department level. Currently, each county health department operates on its own but receives guidance from the state health department.
Update: Passed the Senate on 2/23/3023.
SB 47 – Vax Pass Lite
This is authored by Authored by: Sen. Stacey Donato, Sen. Linda Rogers
This is proposed bill that would allow for vaccine passports to be used in Indiana.
SB321 – Student Health Matters
This is authored by Sen. Andy Zay and Sen Scott Baldwin
Sen. Zay had the opportunity to discuss his bill during the House Education Committee last week. Sen. Zay proposed that student immunization records be removed from school transcripts since such records are private health information and should have no basis for enrollment in an educational institution.
