What You Need to Know About 5G

When you hear the word “5G” you might think of blazing fast internet connectivity and how wonderful it is to be able to have multiple devices in your home streaming games, movies, and music simultaneously without any hiccups. If you are old enough to remember the dial-up internet days, you can appreciate the technological wonder that allows us access to information around the world in the blink of an eye.

With the anticipated roll-out of 5G infrastructure across the United States, vested parties want to sell you on the high-speed connectivity, WiFi everywhere, always-connected benefits of 5G. But there is a dark side to 5G. Enough research has been done to correlate these networks and harm to human health. This is a great video that gives a quick overview of 5G:

What Are The Dangers of Wireless Radiation?

Wireless radiation is dangerous to you and your family. Scientists have decades of research on the effects of EMR (electromagnetic radiation) on the human body, the environment, and wildlife and have called for a moratorium on 5G due to regulators ignoring the health risks associated with radiation. Research has shown that two types of brain tumors are statistically associated with wireless radiation. A host of other illnesses, such as tinnitus (ringing of the ears), DNA damage, sperm damage, and leaks in the blood-brain barrier have been noted as well. We highly recommend reading the EMR Health Impacts section on childrenshealthdefense.org.

Are 5G/EMR/EMF the same thing?

EMR is electromagnetic radiation, which consists of radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, x-rays and gamma rays. EMF (electromagnetic field) describes mathematically the strength of the physical field being measured. Most people assimilate the word “5G” with radiation. 5G technically refers to 5th generation of mobile network technology, which is measured in frequencies. One way to think about it is you can measure the amount of 5G wireless frequencies, within a physical space (EMF), which could give you the amount of radiation (EMR).

What You Can Do To Protect Your Family

The best place you can start is your home. Refrain from purchasing “smart” devices (i.e. thermostats, refrigerators, Amazon Alexa, etc.). If you do have smart devices in your home, consider unplugging them when not in use. Also, switched to wires instead of wireless. Wire your computer directly to your router. Turn your router off at night.

Teach your children that when they put their cellphone in their pocket, make sure that airplane mode is turned on so that the wireless connection is disabled. Discourage the use of wireless earbuds – go for wired earbuds!

Remember, your children are modeling what you do! Start practicing ways to minimize your exposure to wireless radiation and your children will pick up your habits.
